265 known to sugar industry engineers and technicians on every continent of the world. Nowhere is this tradition represented more vividly than in the person of Nancy Rowell Lewit, who provides critical leadership in all phases of Western States’ activity a century after her grandfather founded the company. And it is the story of a company which has maintained the technical and engineering leadership originally instilled by its founder, and which, despite its modest size, is a truly global company, with sales and service teams assisting customers around the world, including in some of the most remote regions of the world, responding to the challenges of global markets, climate fluctuations, political upheaval, war and countless other obstacles, affecting the sugar, chemical and pharmaceutical industries over the course of an entire century. It is the story of a company, now entering its second century, of which all of us associated with it can be proud. Gerold W. Libby, Chairman of the Board Since 2011, The Western States Machine Company March 6, 2017
