George Conrad - Mr. Nice Guy! We worked together for two weeks at CSR Victoria Mill on trials with perforated loading pot (BSES Preferred) vs the plain loading pot (WS Preferred). George had the laboratory working around the clock for his analysis results, I thought that they were going to kill him. When we finished the trials, all the lab staff pitched in and bought George a gift in appreciation of his efforts and contributions to the laboratory staff during the project. George Conrad - the Giver George is, I believe, the only non-industry person to ever receive the SIT "Crystal Award" in recognition of his services to the Sugar Industry. I respectfully present the forgoing information as a small part of the history of my 53 years association with The Western States Machine Co. My special thanks go to the late Mr. James Fenske and late Mr. George Conrad who played a major part in shaping my life, rest in peace my special friends. My thanks to Mr. Roger Fair for all his assistance and willingness to listen to my theories of operation for CC machines. We may not be at this point today but for his commitment. My thanks to Mr. Doug Buckner for his belief in my abilities for the VL Centrifugal project. Last but not least, many thanks to all my friends over the years at Western States for their friendship, guidance and patience, heaven knows they needed a lot of that sometimes. - Graham Vidler right: Mulgrave Installation.
