Jose Antonio’s middle child, Enrique Villamil, followed in his father’s footsteps and continued to work in the sugar industry. His passion for the industry and contagious charisma lead him to forge alliances and friendships within this close knit sugar family that are still part of the relationships we cherish today. In the early 1970s, he started his company in Guatemala and later expanded to the U.S. He dedicated his work to serve the Western Hemisphere’s cane sugar industry. Along with representing some of the sector’s leading brands, he launched the companies, LABS Sugar Process Chemicals and Empressa Enal. Additionally, he is responsible for their innovating many of the products which are still in service today. The Villamil family’s third generation continues to proudly serve the sugar/energy industries with Carlos Villamil following in his father’s and grandfather’s tradition. More than seven decades of service to their customers has cemented their relationship with Western States.
